How FOSS4g Fits in Your Stack

I had a great semester working with my students using desktop, server, and developer tools with Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial (FOSS4g). The students used my FOSS4g videos to learn how to use QGIS, Postgres/PostGIS, SQL, and Geoserver. We didn't use Python, as that would have been a bridge too far in a single semester.

They did a fantastic job not only learning the software, but also put together a 50 minute briefing, that I narrated below. This was a great learning experience, and I hope that it contributes to the understanding of FOSS4g. While I narrated the video here, my students will be presenting this talk live, at a number of conferences throughout the next year. I hope you have an opportunity to meet them at a local GIS conference near you. Click the link above to watch the video.
